A crossbow would work fine, and be sure to collect elemental arrows. Focus on a physical and magical balance. Note: Give yourself a small balance of magical abilities (no points on summoning or necromancer, but a few points on the rest), and you’ll want about 12 ranged weapon points. These also give you a chance to keep your enemy burning. This is a must, as it gives you more critical hits. 
Lets take a step back when you need to. As you level up, you’ll want 10 War Points. Will get a chance to backstab and increase physical armor. Get an armor that gives you extra intelligence and ingenuity. It is excellent for sneaking past the enemy. These three are very good for a physical build. Use a dagger and a isI used to gain additional physical armor and the ability to backstab. You’ll want armor that gives you additional finesse and ingenuity points, while of course focusing on physical armor. Additionally, you can equip the Frost Armor, which elevates the Magic Armor. Consequently, you will have a higher level of defense. 
Note: The last two skills we show you will allow you to increase the value of your physical armor.
It’s great to start with a good damage.
